The Gidimt’en Access Point says it has once again issued an eviction notice to Coastal Gaslink from a key pipeline drill site.
According to a news release, this will protect Wet’suwet’en headwaters and an area known as Coyote Camp will be reoccupied.
The enforcement of the 2020 eviction notice took place on Sunday (Dec 19) which removes pipeline workers and re-establishes the blockade that ended on November 19.
This enforcement comes after 30 arrests were made last month after the eviction notice was also enforced in November.
The arrests included two journalists and the main spokesperson for the Gidimt’en Access Point Sleydo’, who also goes by Molly Wickham.
According to RCMP, police were called to the area of Marten Forest Service Road.
A news release from police added that Coastal GasLink security officials were allegedly threatened.
It added that there were damaged trucks and fired flares and bear bangers at security officials.
The incident is currently being investigated by RCMP and the situation is being monitored.
Patrols of the area will also continue to ensure safety and that the road remains unobstructed and accessible.
