The first major snowfall of the year is wrecking havoc on Highway 16.
Multiple accidents are being reported both east and west of Vanderhoof.
A school bus and a car have collided at Highway 16 and Mcnolty Road (see video below). Injuries to the bus occupants are minor in nature and limited to back pain. SD91 has another school bus on scene and are transferring the students away from the crash scene. Few other details are available at this time.
Another accident at Highway 16 and Saranovich involving three cars has completely snarled traffic to a crawl. Motorists appear to be using Derksen as a detour.
Drivers without snow tires are being advised to avoid the highways completely.
