Solid job growth and lowest jobless rate in Canada goes to BC in September

BC continued to outpace Canada in several categories in the September job numbers survey.

Stats Canada Labour Division Analyst, Andrew Fields says the provincial numbers are putting the national figures to same.

“So we have a 2.6% growth rate for BC and a 0.8% growth rate in Canada so as a whole the province is doing great in that respect which also holds the lowest unemployment rate in the country at 5.7%.”

The recent job growth equates to 62,000 more people working in the past year.
