BC continued to outpace Canada in several categories in the September job numbers survey.
Stats Canada Labour Division Analyst, Andrew Fields says the provincial numbers are putting the national figures to same.
“So we have a 2.6% growth rate for BC and a 0.8% growth rate in Canada so as a whole the province is doing great in that respect which also holds the lowest unemployment rate in the country at 5.7%.”
The recent job growth equates to 62,000 more people working in the past year.
The Prince George-Cariboo region posted a 7.4% jobless rate in September.
Despite the high figure, the region did see a spike in people employed in the agriculture and natural resources sectors.
