The lowest unemployment rate in August belonged to BC at 5.5%.
Stats Canada Labour Division Analyst, Vince Ferrao says the province’s employment sector has grown by leaps and bounds. “Employment has shown some strong growth, it is up 3% that translates to about 73,000 more British Columbians working.”
According to Ferrao, several sectors have benefitted from the recent boom.
“There are about 10,000 more people working in construction in a year over year basis in BC there’s also more people working in Business Building and Support Services and Information, Culture and Recreation, has shown some strong growth.”
Prince George’s jobless rate is 6.6% which is a decline of a full point from the same time last year.
