ICBC bracing for wave of new drivers

With driving conditions near perfect in BC, ICBC is reminding new drivers to avoid bad habits and risky behavior behind the wheel.

Spokesperson, Doug McDonald while injuries and deaths among youth drivers are declining in the province, the numbers aren’t low enough.

“In BC, 32 youths between the ages of 16 to 21 are killed in 6,900 crashes every year, so getting the message out with any road safety tips when it comes driving and avoiding risky behavior for new drivers is really important.”

Some helpful tips include reviewing the rules of the road, signing them up for driving lessons with a professional driving school and practicing at several neighbourhoods during different times of the day.
