The North District RCMP will be presenting long-term service awards to employees who have completed 20, 25, 30, as well as 35 years worth of service within the Canadian service.
“That’s an accomplishment worth recognizing,” Cpl. Madonna Saunderson told MyPGNow. “These men and women put themselves out there every day dealing with perhaps some of the not nicest situations that can and does happen.”
Coinciding with National Police Week, the ceremony will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Prince George Playhouse, located at 2626 Recreation Place Drive.
Also, there will be presentations of the Commanding Officer’s Certificate of Appreciation, Commanding Officers Commendation & Insignia, District Officer’s Certificates of Appreciation, and St. John Life-Saving Award & Silver Lapel Pin.
The employees being recognized include regular members, civilian members, and public service employees, of which hail from communities such as Prince George, Smithers, and Vanderhoof to name a few.
“To be out there for that length of time and doing good work, good conduct, and wearing the uniform with pride certainly deserves recognition,” said Saunderson.
The ceremony will commence at 10:00 a.m.
