Workers in BC are taking more home per week according to the March payroll survey from Stats Canada.
The province has seen a steady incline during the past year says Economist Jeremy Weekes.
“BC’s average weekly earnings for the month of March was $917 up from $913 the month prior and year-over-year we have seen it go up 12 bucks.”
The province’s March increase of 1.3% outgained the national mark of 0.7%.
BC currently has the fifth highest average weekly earnings in Canada.
Canada’s weekly average is $960.
BC outperformed Alberta, Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador in the latest survey.
