The Saik’uz Log building could have a new home.
The First Nation and District of Vanderhoof are hoping to move it from Bednesti to the local museum grounds.
The move would showcase the Saik’uz art and culture right off of highway 16, and next to the new Chamber of Commerce and Info Centre.
Vanderhoof Councilor Ken Young says this is the right move all around.

“It’s a win-win for everyone,” he says, “It’s a win for the Info Centre, it’s a win for Saik’uz to have their history, artifacts, and their artist’s works displayed, and it’s a win for us adding that level of a building into the centre of the community.”
If all goes according to plan, Young says this could be done by Fall.
