The Consumer Price Index in BC has gone up 1.7% in the past year.
Stats Canada Economist, Brian Harrison states the western provinces saw larger increases due to one thing.
“Alberta and B.C. had the biggest jumps in March compared to February and this is because of the Gasoline Index which had larger increases in the western provinces.”
Harrison also gave MYPGNOW a snapshot into the current gas situation in B.C. “In B.C. specifically, it was up month over month at 7.5% which caused a smaller yearly decline.”
The Furniture Index had its largest year-over-year increase since November of 2013 resulting in an across the board purchase increase for passenger vehicles.
