The Bears came home from Smithers with extra hardware.
Vanderhoof earned gold at the B.C. Hockey Bantam Tier 3 championships. The team had a 3-2 overtime win over Whitehorse in the final game after they outscored North Shore 6-2 in the semis.
In chronological order, Vanderhoof beat South Okanagan 6-3 Sunday, lost 4-3 to Whitehorse Monday, tied Arbutus Club 9-9 Tuesday (1-1-1 in round robin), beat North Shore 6-2 in the semi-final game and beat Whitehorse 3-2 in overtime in the gold medal game.
