Vanderhoof biathlete wins three medals at BC Winter Games

The North West zone (which included the Nechako Valley) finished with three gold, four silver and six bronze at the 29th BC Winter Games in Penticton.

Linnea Moutray of Vanderhoof earned three medals in Biathlon: Gold in Jr. Girls Super Sprint and Bronze in both Jr. Girls Sprint and Jr. Girls Individual.

The Fraser River zone collected the most medals with 107 and the most gold with 42.

More than 1,200 athletes from around the province competed in 17 different sports, including four sports for athletes with a disability.

Able-body athletes ranged in age from 9-17 years old.
